Away at Cogenhoe 0 -2
Alcoholic Units – half thanks Nunny š

Wow my last Waders match was 31st October! and Alexa informs me this is 251 days to today š² My observation over the last 16 month is that people have fallen into 1 (or 2) of the following 3 categories:
- Hunk š¤„
2. Chunk š¤
3. Drunk š¤«
Me and BigAl definitely fell crashed stumbled into the latter 2 š so be warned subsequent blogs will invariably involve salad and low calorie mixers; fingers crossed, we have a long overdue holiday to look forward to at the end of September and at this rate the only place we will fit is the cargo hold š
We collected Chelseaboy & Bunnyman on the way and set out to find a place I’ve never heard of – there would be no chance of getting there any earlier than the the 45 minutes estimated, as the roads are littered with speed cameras and BigAl didn’t want to add to his recently acquired 3 points 𤨠I did worry at one point when signage indicated that we were in Deer country; those in the know, will be aware that back in March Bambi decided to take on BigAl in the car in what would prove to be an expensive morning morning for us šand an eye opener to how badly insurance companies can behave when they have to pay out 𤬅 Luckily its looked like word had got back to the herd and they steered well clear š

After a wrong turn slight diversion š¶ we found the ground and parked up just across from JT’s shiny new motor – looks like JT has fall into cat 1; Ā£7 to get in š and we made our way to the clubhouse – Nunny (Cat 1) was there with his super cute son and got a drink in for us all š„° the clubhouse was quite small, but they were very friendly, the drinks reasonable and not 1, not 2 but 3 screens!!!
Rodney, Grandad and Lew found us in the clubhouse and we were soon joined by Em & M as well… Count Draxler popped in to say hello and thank BigAl for his continued tweeting ā
Outside we caught up with BigDaveK who is claiming Cat 1, š¤š¤ Only messing Dave š¤„
Dave Darren and Anny had also made the trip so the Green Army were back šš

It was good to See Joe Neal, Shane Bush, Sam Squires, Shorty and JP. It was also good to hear see Bully šš even if he was on the other side.
It was our 1st run out against a side that had already played 5 and to be honest you could tell as Cogenhoe looked the fitter, sharper and not unsurprisingly, playing for Bully, the more more physical side. A goal in each half from the home side underlined this.
Waders looked better in the 2nd half, but couldn’t make a break through. I have to say I like look of this team and hope we do go into the season keeping hold of of most of them. We were really sorry to see Scott Davies go as he bossed the midfield for us and had so much experience to share in what turned out to be a weird on off on off season… Good luck to him on his return to Slough š

It was so nice to catch up with everyone and lovely to chat with Em through the 2nd half, I’ve missed it all so much š
The journey home was long š…. something to do with a 10 mile detour we took, so busy chatting and joking about we drove straight past the big sign saying BEDFORD A421 š Fancy a professional driver like BigAl getting lost š the funniest thing being when Em messaged me to say they had been following us assuming BigAl knew where he was going š I’m still waiting for M to pop round asking for the petrol money š¤š
So another big match tonight…gulp Come on England!!!! š³ and then a Waders away day to Donners new team Stotfold on Saturday 17th; A big thanks to BDK for arranging transport for some of the GreenArmy š.
