Lets start this blog with what I can remember šš I thought today I would be the sensible one as a hair appointment meant I wouldn’t get to spoons to meet up with Chelseaboy, DJ, BigAl, JT & Bunnyman until 1ish… I didn’t bank on having drinks lined up for me on my arrival… But I do now wish I’d had lunch as it turns out 2 eggs and ham for breakfast is in no way substantial enough when on an away day with the GreenArmy š You think I’d of learnt by now…

BigDaveK and his mate Chris joined us in spoons before we headed out to find our carriage courtesy of Village cars & BDK. On arrival at the ground we were all instantly impressed by the set up and paid the Ā£6 entrance by card. What a fantastic ground!! Certainly the best at their level and it will give many others a run for their money… It was table service in the clubhouse and beer terrace. We settled for the beer garden overlooking the pitch and were almost immediately greeted by who is now my very favourite bar person (I suspect he never wants to see WaderBird or the GreenArmy again š) – a perfect combination of good looks (apart from the dodgy moustache š) efficiency, humour and patience!!

The bar was cashless – my 2nd job of the day, after checking my photos to see what I got up to, will be checking my account to see how much I spent š¬ By now we were joined by Rodney, Grandad and Lewlew…
Millwall Steve & Teddy made the journey to Stotfolds new ground racking up 407 & 359 grounds visited between them; The last time we’d seen them was at the friendly with Potton Utd 2 years back š² and he still carries that big bag of sweeties š¬š¬

Alcohol was not allowed outside of the beer garden… so I stayed with Chelseaboy, BDK & Chris so watch from our sunny vantage point mistake no.2

I spotted M & Em had snuck in behind the flags ready for kick off.
No goals at half time & Bunnyman decided to stay in the beer terrace with us for the 2nd half… That’s as much as a I remember. BigAl informs me this morning that we won 2-0 and apparently me, BDK, Chelseaboy, Bunnyman & Chris were battered; but I didn’t do anything too outrageous, the benchmark is pretty low for that low though š – True story; At my uncles wake a few years back I exclaimed very loudly “Whys everyone so f**kin miserable” š¬ oh and following day I had a phone call from a bloke (who I went to school with) It turns out I’d insisted he call me… and so he didšhis opening line was “Alright treacle” š

All in all a great day out – thanks to BDK for organising it – a fabulous ground with a fantastic new manager in Donners, I wish them all the very best
