No Alcoholic Units – School night š
MoM – Joe Neal
It was a chilly evening of football and I was very glad I ignored BigAls advice and wore a jacket š¤ We picked up Bunnyman enroute, newly refreshed from his 2 week break in the sunny UK… I wasn’t expecting many tonight and was pleasantly surprised at a good turnout from Lowestoft – as one of their fans mentioned in the program, they are nearer to the Hook of Holland than Biggleswade š®
More importantly, it was an impressive turn out from the Green Army š„° we were greeted by Willow the Wader coming in, followed by Stick, JT, Grandad, Rodney, Dave and it was great to see Roy AKA Stirling back šhe was with his faithful side kick Elsie, who by all accounts, being a typical greedy lab, could smell the treats Stick had hidden in his pockets š so dragged Roy inš it was good to see him safe and well! Not sure what hidden treats the random fan who accosted Stick prior to kick off wanted for the Ā£1 he was offering š I am happy to report, that the Scotsman could not be bought š
Chelseaboy, Em & M soon joined us and it was good to see Ginge back in the stands, we were soon joined by Mr B tucking into a tasty looking Waders burger šš
Also it was good to see Bully tonight, he was obviously on a scouting mission…

With no Nunny tonight, Waders made another strong start; but Lowestoft would be no pushovers.
It was pretty even for the first the 1st 26 minutes and then super Joe Neal continued to impress us with a wonder shot smashing the back if the net with what is now the front runner for goal of the season – Sorry Manu & Blake š
Back out for half time and we were joined in the BelEnd by more Green Army.

The 2nd half starting well for us with Joe Neal putting another one away from a corner on 54 minutes š 2 -0
Lowestoft pulled it back within 3 minutes 2 – 1 š® but dont panic, we’d got this š¤
Then on the 62nd minute in what looked to be a pointless challenge, Blake D’Arcy received his 2nd yellow card and Waders were down to 10 men… š Suddenly the opposition looked a lot stronger and we were hanging on…

2 minutes extra time felt like an eternity… but unlike Saturday, it was just 2 minutes and Waders took the 3 points!!ššš I later learned that we are amongst the top 3 clubs tipped to go down this season… So I’m very happy with 4 points in 2 games thank you very much. A big shout out to our defence who put their bodies on the line to keep Lowestoft out in the last minutes of the match šš
I really enjoyed tonight (and I hate a midweek match!) it was so good to be back in amongst friends and for things to feel normal gain – I will never take non league for granted.
