Redditch Away 1 – 0

11th September 2021

We heard some shocking news this week about one of my favourite Waders BigGav 😍 – Sending lots of love and best wishes to him, not just from me, the Green Army to xx wishing him a speedy recovery 💚⚽️💚

BigGav 💚

Alcoholic Units – I dread to think 🤣

MoM – Shane Bush; It was never a sending off 🤥🤥🤐

Before he deserted me in enemy territory 😂

Myself, BigAl and DJ opted for the coach again today with M, Chelseaboy, MrB and his grandson; I tell ya, these two are a such a double act 😂 “Bloody phone attached to ya hand permanently” “Playing that boom boom music” the latter gave your years away Terry 🤣🤣

🤭

Count Draxtler was sporting his Miami vice suit again… and still doesn’t have a clue what I’m on about

Still no Nunny today as he continues to recuperate 😏 BigAl did speak with him a couple of times in the week, he’s doing ok 👍

It was relatively quiet journey up with BigAl watching Spurs lose…On arrival at the club, BigAl dumped us for the exec entrance 🙄 media duties are defo going to his head 😂 I’m surprised he hasn’t had business cards made up 🤣

It was my 3rd visit here and it was good to get back in the clubhouse as the last time was lockdown and we were stuck in the far terrace, in the pouring rain being screwed up by the stone Island boys – I’m hapy to report they were not in attendance today, with the return of premier league 😊

The match itself was a tight affair and ultimately decided by the a penalty awarded to  Redditch 33 minutes in 😰 1-0; It looked like a harsh decision but chatting after the match, the players didn’t seem to protest it. Although Waders looked strong in defence, we simply didn’t create enough chances.

La la la….

The 2nd half was really decided by the ref, who didn’t give a blatant handball in the box and then sent Shane Bush off in a straight red… We went close with a deflected James Peters effort that was well saved by the keeper, but after the sending off there was no way back for us.

Handball! (Thanks to Kane Farell’s dad for this video👍)

A few more drinks were had in the clubhouse after and plenty of laughs 😂😂  involving Chelseaboy being wedged in his new Barrowcuzzi (an actual wheel barrow filled with water 🤣) I’d of paid good money for that video 😂 Mr B’s disgust at BigAl not joining me in the hotub the previous night and  how he would of easily got his leg over it 😱🤣🤣

Me and BigAl were the last out; mainy because instead of waiting for me at the loos as he’d promised – he went off to the coach, leaving me loitering outside the men’s wondering what on earth he’s doing in there 😬🤔

Pretty much the journey home dissolved into the chaos of a drunk GreenArmy (me Mick and Al 😂) singing tunelessly to an embarrassed squad (can’t think why most of them decided not to coach it 🤔😄) me pestering poor David Manu; lovely lad, but there is no excuse for not knowing who Blondie are  😡😂🤭

Mr B nicking my phone 🤭 I have the evidence Terry 😉 imagine my surprise when I found this little gem on my phone this morning – it’s kept us entertained for hours 👇 (dont worry this is the edited version 🤣) 👇

Old people and technology 🤣 what’s she doing up the back

Quote of the day, me to BigAl “Oh sorry I meant nob head not nonce” 🤣 easy mistake 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🥂🤣

We had a great day despite the rubbish results 🍻🥂🍻🥂🍻

4th September 2021

Me & Mr B; A Wader through and through!

Alcoholic Units – Plenty 🥂🥂🍻

MoM – Joe Neal

Attendance – Not saying a word 😂🙄

A rather rugged looking BDK – that was just before we found out about his dance moves 😂

Today I would be missing my wingman ChelseaBoy who is carrying an injury 😏- Bunnyman returned to the fold today as did MattyMouser performing his care in the community duties 😉.

A few of us did the obligatory Spoons Meet up before the match – BDK, just recovering from him spell check twitter debacle 🤣 imagine pulling someone up on their spelling, and making a typo 😂😂 apparently it was on purpose, he was being ironic 🤣

So we learnt all about BDK’s dance lessons for his wedding – I will pay good money if anyone can get me a copy of that video 🤔😂 there was so much more – but the gift that keeps on giving made sure most of it was unprintable 😂🤐

Fresh from his bush trimming accident…

Unusually we started towards the BelEnd – with me Lew and Charlotte trying to find the Waderstones (thanks ChelseaBoy) so deftly hidden last week… Willow the Wader made an appearance again bringing along GnomeGirl who I haven’t seen since the very start of lockdown 😮 it was good to catch up..

No Nunny again thanks to Covid 😥 so it would be Joe Howe leading the troops again today. Superscoop had a done a really good piece in his program **if you haven’t already, these programs are worth a look, very good** with Donners, in it Donners stayed on the fence about who he wanted to go through today… Me and BigAl were firmly of the opinion that Hitchin would do a job on us today and sadly we weren’t wrong..

Hitchin took the lead early on with a penalty for handball and really we were never in it after that. Joe Neal worked his socks off but had little support and ultimately Hitchin were the deserved winners 😏there’s not a lot more to say about the match, its was a a long sulky walk home for us 😐…

We go again Saturday away to Redditch..💚⚽️💚

30th August 2021

MoM – Lewis Clayton

Attendance – 215?

Alcoholic Units – Many!! 🤣🤪🤪🤣

It was a typical August bank holiday today – cold and wet! So my timberland got their 1st outing of the season 🤨 Myself and BigAl met up with Chelseaboy in Spoons before making our way down to the Yvette Brewer Stadium; We were expecting a pretty big crowd today, but it turns out most people had other plans today…

Still no Nunny or Shorty, so it would be the safe hands of Joe Howe again today.

Bunnyman was still missing in action, Grandad, Rodney and Lew were the waiting for us at the stadium; Blackpool Dan made his 1st appearance of the season as did ChrisB 😁

Waders made another good start and the impressive looking Lewis Clayton fired home into the box just after 4 minutes 😁 just 10 minutes later the Waders defence parted like the Red Sea and St.Ives equalised 😏 1 – 1.

9 Minutes later our over generous defence did the same thing and suddenly we were on the back foot 1 – 2 😣 their lead only lasted for 7 minutes when Jemale scored from close range – Phew, what a 1st half…👀

Back out for the 2nd half – It was good to see Graham, my old work mate supporting the Ives – his 2nd visit here in 2 weeks 😊 Mr B and his mate joined us at the BelEnd for the 2nd half. Lew was in fine voice today and lead the chanting for most of the 45 minutes remaining…

Waders came out all guns blazing and took a deserved lead on the 60th minute – it might not of been a quality goal – but who cares – the ball went in the net coming off the back of their keepers head… Lew (as in WaderBoy) is taking full credit for that goal – it was his chanting apparently 👀😂

Mr B was keen to give some advice to Jemale as he walked off having been subbed 😂 I think he might walk the other way next time 😉

Another 3 points another great game! we go again on Saturday in the FA cup prelim round against out old adversaries Hitchin Town.

Hednesford Away 1 – 1 (!!!!😁)

WaderBoy Lew 😍😍 He kept the faith, and sang his heart out 😍
Pre-match drinks; Mr B still on his way up the many steps…

28th August 2021

Attendance 552

MoM – Jake Alley “I dunno how much you’re paying your goalie – but he’s worth every penny” from one of their supporters as they left the match” 👏

Alcoholic Units – just the 4; not even wine for me today (I did want a wine at the end, but Mr ‘never 2 seconds away from his phone’ didn’t get the message 🤨 Not that I’ve gone on about it 😂)

Superscoop – I think he biked it…

A 10.30 start for us this morning on the players coach; the already lite GreenArmy would be even lighter today, with just me BigAl, DJ, Grandad Lew, Rodney, M and Mr B making today’s trip up north 🙁 Its the Waders furthest away match this season and would be another tough day due to covid and playing a top side.

I wonder if I can persuade Chairman Mo to get us one of these for our club house..

The journey was good with just the one hold up on the way; Hednesford ground ‘Keys Park’ is seriously impressive and I’d guess the best in our league… the drinks were reasonable and staff all really friendly 😊

The ladies loos left a bit to be desired 😏 not quite as bad as Nuneaton, but not the best 🙄 given how good the ground was…

Race ya!!

Today would be a tough one just like last week – Hednesford are unbeaten and another team tipped for the top 3 😬 added to this Covid had ripped through the squad and we’d just about scrapped together 13 players…

Chips curry sauce and cheese burger before kick off – very good; they boasted x2 vans and snacks behind the bar, clearly a club geared up for much higher levels.

Before the 1st half, the club held a minutes applause for their grounds man Dave Bates (#GrassMaster) who’d sadly passed away last week following many year of dedicated service to the club; It was all done very well and impeccably observed 👏👏♥

Should’ve brought your sunnies BigAl 😎

Fully expecting to be on the back foot, it was no surprise that the pitmen came out all guns blazing creating numerous chances, but Waders defence held firm with Jake Alley making some impressive saves and really coming into his own this game.

Magloire Muyembe
Kane Farrell – getting ready for one of his super corner kicks 😊

Waders had a couple of chances with Magloire Muyembe having a shot saved by their keeper and Joe Neal tried a chip over the keeper from the edge of the box – but it went well over..

0 -0 at half time… 👀 Not quite sure how we’d held on, but we had.

Back out for the 2nd half and the pitmen meant business and started what would be a long 45 minutes with them battering us; Just as we were thinking there was 15 min left, maybe we could hang on… they scored the goal that had been coming all game 😏

1 – 0 Hednesford after 73 mins

It was now a case of hoping the score could be kept respectable, there fans were willing them on, sensing more goals…. Lewey had taken to the back of the stand chanting lalalalalalala WADERS!!!!!!!!!!! joined only by Bigal as most of us were biting our nails…

In the dying minutes (4 minutes extra time) the ball made a rare appearance in the Hednesford half, the ball was crossed into the box and for once the orange shirts seemed to outnumber the home defence; Shane Bush, still desperate to be center forward, got a foot to the ball and poked it into the net 1 – 1 😁😁

We went wild!!!!!!!!!!! what an unbelievable feeling that was – I was shaking with adrenaline 😍😍😍

Superscoop had left early for a long bike back South 😉 and so managed to miss scoop of the season 🤐

A bit tasty behind the goal and full time…
Players coming over to clap us 😍😍

At Nuneaton our draw felt like a loss, todays draw felt like a win; we certainly weren’t the better team and they will rightfully feel mugged off by us – but we made our chance count and I LOVED IT 😍

I know there was a bit of aggro at the end behind the goal and Jake booked for giving a friendly wave to their supporters 😜 it always amuses me the morale outrage of 99% football fans who’ve spent 90 minutes giving dogs abuse to the keeper, when they get some back 😂😂 (I’m in the 1% 😇)

I found Hednesford to be a very friendly club, with lots families and children enjoying the non league experience, which I love to see; and despite having 3 points snatched from them, they were super gracious and all wished us well 🥰 one of the better away days and certainly made up for last weeks experience at ours!

It was a good journey home – and at 8pm I am pleased to report, I finally got that wine 🥂 and a cheeky pizza 😂

Home to St.Ives on BH Monday.

Home to Peterborough Sports 0 – 3

21st August 2021

Always outnumbered

Attendance – 215

Alcoholic Units; 3 in Spoons and 3 needed ones in the ground!

MoM – (the very photogenic) David Manu 🤭

Myself and BigAl were really looking forward to today, our 1st proper Saturday home match in 290 odd days – it followed a great away day last week and an enjoyable Tuesday night game… The only fly in todays ointment, would be the fact we are playing the club tipped to go up with ease this season 😏 still at least we had 4 points 🤨 Today would be a big test for us and to quote BigAl “If we get battered by them, 5 or 6 goals, then we’ve clearly been lucky in the previous games..”

We headed to Spoons which was massively busy, with a fair few Peterborough sports fans sampling the delights.. we squeezed into a booth with Big Dave K and Chelseaboy; BDK had one side to himself… he needs the room 😂 **That was revenge for him saying I could do with the exercise when I turned down a lift to the ground 🤔😂 I’m not lying though, look at how his jacket has shrunk 👇

So rude 🤣

We were soon joined by Rodney Grandad and Lew, oh and Big Dave K’s PA; BDK explained to his PA that I do a blog – apparently its ok when you’ve read a few 😮🤐 and his theory that the time I publish it, depends on how many I had at the match…😲 Please understand BDK was actually being kind to me and giving me fodder for my blog – he’s all heart 🤣

By now were were a little concerned not to have ben joined by Bunnyman who had said he was on his way down to meet us? unfortunately he stopped on his way to trim a bush on his rockery (as you do 😏) and managed to snap his ankle and so end up in A & E 😬

BDK clearly bored by grandads latest medical story 🤣

Myself, BigAl, Rodney and Lew took the healthy option and walked down to the ground, although lew did pick up an injury going past those sticky out brambles before the A1 bridge – remind me how much council tax we pay again 🤨 – never fear Nanna’s always got a plaster or a tissue at hand 😇

Dangerous business prematch prunning 🤭

Superscoop was back from sunny Wales, Darren had brought his plasterer along 😂 and M&Em had joined us; Rain threatened so we headed for the original stand on the far side – this would turn out to be a big mistake, and in hindsight I wished I’d just put me umbrella up 🙄 I did spot a couple of familiar faces in the away supporters, Nick & G had decided to support their old St.Ives player, now managing PSports, rather than the away trip to Stourbridge.

It was great the see Nunny back, and the advantage of this stand is your up close and personal with the dugouts… there were quite a few waders sheltering in here, mostly with young kids. Not long into the match it became obvious that we had a PB sports ‘fan’ sheltering here to… not a problem, until it became glaringly clear that he was utterly vile – screaming expletives and really aggressive.. he was screaming at Nunny, and at us – I did try and calm him a have several words.. not least because I don’t think stuff about rapists is very pleasant in front of anyone let alone me and Em & my 4 year old grandson 😡 he would apologise and then launch off again.. I was desperate for things to be nice today and me not to kick off, so I had to walk away in the end and went off to get the half time drinks… I can’t think why he’s missing his front teeth… I this had been a league ground he would of been kicked out very early on… In the clubhouse I spoke with some PB sports fans who were disgusted and seemed to know who he was they went off to have words (it would seem there is a reason he doesn’t stand with his fellow fans)…

The least said about the game the better – they dominated from start to finish with us having very few chances and were worthy 3 nil winners; judging by this performance, I’d put money on them being promoted, or certainly up in the top 3..

Sorry for the lack of photo’s etc and lightweight blog – unfortunately, that one individual ruined today for me, that isn’t what non league is about 😔 I hope he gets dealt with by the club and soon, because their supporters were a great bunch and lots of families, which is always great to see; they don’t deserve to be let down by such a $%#*$ individual.

Next week we travel to Hendesford – we will be making the journey ⚽️💚⚽️💚

David Manu in a blatant attempt for MoM 🤭😍

Home to Lowestoft 2 – 1

17th August 2021

No Alcoholic Units – School night 😇

MoM – Joe Neal

It was a chilly evening of football and I was very glad I ignored BigAls advice and wore a jacket 🤭 We picked up Bunnyman enroute, newly refreshed from his 2 week break in the sunny UK… I wasn’t expecting many tonight and was pleasantly surprised at a good turnout from Lowestoft – as one of their fans mentioned in the program, they are nearer to the Hook of Holland than Biggleswade 😮

More importantly, it was an impressive turn out from the Green Army 🥰 we were greeted by Willow the Wader coming in, followed by Stick, JT, Grandad, Rodney, Dave and it was great to see Roy AKA Stirling back 😊he was with his faithful side kick Elsie, who by all accounts, being a typical greedy lab, could smell the treats Stick had hidden in his pockets 😂 so dragged Roy in😂 it was good to see him safe and well! Not sure what hidden treats the random fan who accosted Stick prior to kick off wanted for the £1 he was offering 😍 I am happy to report, that the Scotsman could not be bought 😆

Chelseaboy, Em & M soon joined us and it was good to see Ginge back in the stands, we were soon joined by Mr B tucking into a tasty looking Waders burger 😊😊

Also it was good to see Bully tonight, he was obviously on a scouting mission…

Willow & Elsie hiding…

With no Nunny tonight, Waders made another strong start; but Lowestoft would be no pushovers.

It was pretty even for the first the 1st 26 minutes and then super Joe Neal continued to impress us with a wonder shot smashing the back if the net with what is now the front runner for goal of the season – Sorry Manu & Blake 😁

Goal!!!

Back out for half time and we were joined in the BelEnd by more Green Army.

Spot the anorak…😉
Mr B hiding…😂

The 2nd half starting well for us with Joe Neal putting another one away from a corner on 54 minutes 😁 2 -0

Lowestoft pulled it back within 3 minutes 2 – 1 😮 but dont panic, we’d got this 🤔

Then on the 62nd minute in what looked to be a pointless challenge, Blake D’Arcy received his 2nd yellow card and Waders were down to 10 men… 😒 Suddenly the opposition looked a lot stronger and we were hanging on…

2 minutes extra time felt like an eternity… but unlike Saturday, it was just 2 minutes and Waders took the 3 points!!😁😁😁 I later learned that we are amongst the top 3 clubs tipped to go down this season… So I’m very happy with 4 points in 2 games thank you very much. A big shout out to our defence who put their bodies on the line to keep Lowestoft out in the last minutes of the match 👏👏

I really enjoyed tonight (and I hate a midweek match!) it was so good to be back in amongst friends and for things to feel normal gain – I will never take non league for granted.

Nuneaton Away

14th August 2021

Nuneaton Boro 3 Waders 3

Alcoholic units – Just the 4 today! I feel ashamed 😂😂

Attendance – Well over 500

MoM – Blake D’Arcy

It was a long awaited away day on the coach with the Waders squad – in fact, if my memory serves me right I think the last was Lowestoft back in March 2020? As most of you know the Green Army isn’t known for its large numbers 😬 and today we would be outnumbered, even by the ball boys (this turned out to be true btw) – there were just 7 of us on the coach; Me, BigAl, Chelseaboy, M, Rodney and Lew – thankfully Grandad did join us at the ground to swell our numbers 😂

No Nunny today – his flight didn’t land in time to make the game.

On arrival at the ground after a delay whilst they opened the gate for us – we were duly dropped at the furthest point from the turnstiles you could get – its not like it was raining and I was dressed for a sunny August day..😥😏

Drying out having got soaked on the long walk round to the turnstiles then bar…

On the way round to the furthest terrace we stopped off to pick up burgers and chips – mine was with curry sauce 😍😍 at the moment they are holding the top spot for best scoff.

With no Nunny on the sidelines, it was left to Russel Short and Joe Howe to lead the team on the pitch today.

It goes without saying that Nuneaton are a much bigger club than us with massive support and so, to expect anything from this game might of been a tad optimistic and with no Bunnyman on board today – we were lacking in the optimism stakes that’s for sure 😏 but its always good to do a new ground (some of us had been before – not me or BigAl).

The game started slowly with the young Waders side containing the home side quite well and after 13 minutes Sam Squires slotted home at the far post from corner – what a start!! 😁

What a goal!!

Waders looked comfy a goal up and the home side seemed rattled – but in the 36th minute…. Nuneaton picked the ball up in midfield and with the Waders seemingly backing off he unleashed a thunderbolt shot into the top right corner 1 -1 😣

Half time took us to the bigger terrace where our flags looked more suited to a cocktail glass in comparison to theirs 😮😂

There no shame in small flags Lew – honest…

Waders made a bright start in the 2nd half with captain for the day James Peters shooting just over from the edge of the box. Super Joe Neal broke into the box but couldn’t get a shot away, he went down in the box but no shout for a penalty..

The home side inevitably started to look stronger and more threatening as time pushed on and in the 71st minute were rewarded with another long range effort straight into the bottom right past the stretching Jake Alley 😌 2 – 1..

This is the time when you start to worry for such a young side – But 4 minutes later unbelievably David Manu spectacularly chipped the ball  straight over the home keeper in what could be a wonder goal of the season 😁 if that’s what he meant to do – we were 50/50 on whether this was cross or intended; I asked David after the match and can confirm that of course it was all planned with military precision 😊 2 – 2 Game back on!!

Both sides created chances looking for the winner and shockingly for some it was the Waders who took the lead with another contender for goal of the season; Blake D’arcy curled the ball into the top right corner from way outside the penalty area 😁😁😁😁 2 – 3 what an goal!!

4 minutes of extra time was given could we hold on??? Sadly no and after what seemed like 10 extra minutes (it was now pushing 17:00hrs 🙄) another screamer from outside the box beat the young keeper making it 3 – 3 and suddenly the ref found his whistle….

It was a super entertaining match to start the season off and although it felt like a loss, if I’d of been offered a draw this morning I’d of taken it for sure 😊

The Green Army have a really good feeling about this squad, they seem to have

a real spirit between them.

The staff were all really friendly, the fans didn’t really speak apart from the idiot, who was old enough to know better, who gave us ‘dogs abuse’ for the whole of the 2nd half?? what that all about 🤨 anyhow he was bid a cheery goodbye at the end 🤐

All in all it was a good, albeit sober by our standards away day;I’m thinking its not Chelseaboys bad influence after all – It must be Bunnyman… lets examine the evidence 🤔🤣🤣😉😂

Remembered a couple of things from last Saturday  – trying to get out of the ground..😱 how long did that take us 🤣 3 attempts we had.. Oh and Miami Vice… count Drax has in recent times become reacquainted with the 1980s  – in particular Miami Vice and a certain Don Jonson… so from here on on he will be Crocket…

Home to Lowestoft on Tuesday night

Stotfold Awayday 0-2

Lets start this blog with what I can remember 😂😎 I thought today I would be the sensible one as a hair appointment meant I wouldn’t get to spoons to meet up with Chelseaboy, DJ, BigAl, JT & Bunnyman until 1ish… I didn’t bank on having drinks lined up for me on my arrival… But I do now wish I’d had lunch as it turns out 2 eggs and ham for breakfast is in no way substantial enough when on an away day with the GreenArmy 😂 You think I’d of learnt by now…

Its always good to look through your photos the day after the awayday before…

BigDaveK and his mate Chris joined us in spoons before we headed out to find our carriage courtesy of Village cars & BDK. On arrival at the ground we were all instantly impressed by the set up and paid the £6 entrance by card. What a fantastic ground!! Certainly the best at their level and it will give many others a run for their money… It was table service in the clubhouse and beer terrace. We settled for the beer garden overlooking the pitch and were almost immediately greeted by who is now my very favourite bar person (I suspect he never wants to see WaderBird or the GreenArmy again 😂) – a perfect combination of good looks (apart from the dodgy moustache 😜) efficiency, humour and patience!!

He’s thinking It didn’t volunteer for this??? 🤔🤔😅

The bar was cashless – my 2nd job of the day, after checking my photos to see what I got up to, will be checking my account to see how much I spent 😬 By now we were joined by Rodney, Grandad and Lewlew…

Millwall Steve & Teddy made the journey to Stotfolds new ground racking up 407 & 359 grounds visited between them; The last time we’d seen them was at the friendly with Potton Utd 2 years back 😲 and he still carries that big bag of sweeties 😬😬

Steve, teddy and neighbour – Great so see them! You meet some great people and make fantastic friends at non league.

Alcohol was not allowed outside of the beer garden… so I stayed with Chelseaboy, BDK & Chris so watch from our sunny vantage point mistake no.2

Photo taken by Millwall Steve

I spotted M & Em had snuck in behind the flags ready for kick off.

No goals at half time & Bunnyman decided to stay in the beer terrace with us for the 2nd half… That’s as much as a I remember. BigAl informs me this morning that we won 2-0 and apparently me, BDK, Chelseaboy, Bunnyman & Chris were battered; but I didn’t do anything too outrageous, the benchmark is pretty low for that low though 😂 – True story; At my uncles wake a few years back I exclaimed very loudly “Whys everyone so f**kin miserable” 😬 oh and following day I had a phone call from a bloke (who I went to school with) It turns out I’d insisted he call me… and so he did🙄his opening line was “Alright treacle” 👀

Bunnyman & DJ
Chelseaboy, Grandad, JT, BigAl and DJ
Big Dave K and his mate Chris who is morphing into a Jimmy Savile look a like 🤐

All in all a great day out – thanks to BDK for organising it – a fabulous ground with a fantastic new manager in Donners, I wish them all the very best

Love this legend!! one of the nicest guys in football, but don’t tell anyone he has a reputation to think of 😄

#InNunnyWeTrust #GreenArmy #Waders #DontDrinkOnEmpty #AwayDays

250 Days later….

Away at Cogenhoe 0 -2

Alcoholic Units – half thanks Nunny 😍

Lew caught chilling- Thanks to JT photography

Wow my last Waders match was 31st October! and Alexa informs me this is 251 days to today 😲 My observation over the last 16 month is that people have fallen into 1 (or 2) of the following 3 categories:

  1. Hunk 🤥

2. Chunk 🤔

3. Drunk 🤫

Me and BigAl definitely fell crashed stumbled into the latter 2 😂 so be warned subsequent blogs will invariably involve salad and low calorie mixers; fingers crossed, we have a long overdue holiday to look forward to at the end of September and at this rate the only place we will fit is the cargo hold 😜

We collected Chelseaboy & Bunnyman on the way and set out to find a place I’ve never heard of – there would be no chance of getting there any earlier than the the 45 minutes estimated, as the roads are littered with speed cameras and BigAl didn’t want to add to his recently acquired 3 points 🤨 I did worry at one point when signage indicated that we were in Deer country; those in the know, will be aware that back in March Bambi decided to take on BigAl in the car in what would prove to be an expensive morning morning for us 🙄and an eye opener to how badly insurance companies can behave when they have to pay out 🤬… Luckily its looked like word had got back to the herd and they steered well clear 😂

It’s good to be back

After a wrong turn slight diversion 😶 we found the ground and parked up just across from JT’s shiny new motor – looks like JT has fall into cat 1; £7 to get in 👀 and we made our way to the clubhouse – Nunny (Cat 1) was there with his super cute son and got a drink in for us all 🥰 the clubhouse was quite small, but they were very friendly, the drinks reasonable and not 1, not 2 but 3 screens!!!

Rodney, Grandad and Lew found us in the clubhouse and we were soon joined by Em & M as well… Count Draxler popped in to say hello and thank BigAl for his continued tweeting ✍

Outside we caught up with BigDaveK who is claiming Cat 1, 🤔🤔 Only messing Dave 🤥

Dave Darren and Anny had also made the trip so the Green Army were back 😊😊

Who got a new camera during lockdown…JT?

It was good to See Joe Neal, Shane Bush, Sam Squires, Shorty and JP. It was also good to hear see Bully 😂😂 even if he was on the other side.

It was our 1st run out against a side that had already played 5 and to be honest you could tell as Cogenhoe looked the fitter, sharper and not unsurprisingly, playing for Bully, the more more physical side. A goal in each half from the home side underlined this.

Waders looked better in the 2nd half, but couldn’t make a break through. I have to say I like look of this team and hope we do go into the season keeping hold of of most of them. We were really sorry to see Scott Davies go as he bossed the midfield for us and had so much experience to share in what turned out to be a weird on off on off season… Good luck to him on his return to Slough 💚

It was so nice to catch up with everyone and lovely to chat with Em through the 2nd half, I’ve missed it all so much 💚

The journey home was long 😏…. something to do with a 10 mile detour we took, so busy chatting and joking about we drove straight past the big sign saying BEDFORD A421 😅 Fancy a professional driver like BigAl getting lost 😘 the funniest thing being when Em messaged me to say they had been following us assuming BigAl knew where he was going 😂 I’m still waiting for M to pop round asking for the petrol money 🤐😜

So another big match tonight…gulp Come on England!!!! 😳 and then a Waders away day to Donners new team Stotfold on Saturday 17th; A big thanks to BDK for arranging transport for some of the GreenArmy 😊.
